Manchester United transfer News: Fabio Coentrao declares playing for Manchester United as an ‘’honor’’

Manchester United transfer News

Amid recent speculations that have linked him heavily with a move to Old Trafford next season, Fabio Coentrao has come out in public in order to express his gratitude for Manchester United. While his duties at Real Madrid have been cut short by the form of Brazilian Marcelo, the Portuguese centre-back is reportedly on the wish-list of Manchester United for next season.

While you might declare United’s interest in him a fluke, the fact that Coentrao nearly signed for Manchester United in 2013 epitomizes the claim that the Red devils are his adorers. While he failed to join the Red devils in 2013 due to some paperwork issues, Coentrao would be itching to complete his deal quickly – should he decide to join the Old Trafford residents in the summer.

Having a contract in place that will keep him at the Bernabeu till 2019, Coentrao has been frustrated due to the lack of opportunities this season. When asked about the rumors of his proposed move to Manchester United after Portugal’s win over Serbia in an International friendly, he lavished praise on the 20-time Premier League Champions.

“I have already shown an interest in playing there [Manchester United], It is one of the best clubs in the world, a club I admire a lot. It would be an honor to play there’’

“I hope to get more playing time at Real Madrid and for the coach to trust in me,” he said. That has not really happened until now.”

Thus, while the transfer window is still some time away, rumors factory has started to turn its wheels already. And with Manchester United having a plethora of left-full-backs in their squad already, a deal for the Portuguese might raise some eyebrows amongst the Red devils faithful.
