Barclays Premier League: How will Manchester City lineup against West Ham

Barclays Premier League Match Preview

Last season when both Manchester City welcomed West Ham at the Etihad Stadium in this fixture, it was the last day of the season and anything less than a defeat would have granted them the Barclays Premier League title. While they eventually won this match comfortably, nobody would have thought that the memories of that fixture will come to haunt the Citizens this time around.

When they will welcome West Ham on Sunday night, there will be little reference to the same fixture from last year. While they were on song last season, going for their 2nd title in space of 4 years, it is fair to say that the whole world has changed as far as Manchester City are concerned.

Manchester City have lost twice in April, the last time they lost 3 times in a single month was in November 2008.

With Liverpool waiting on the background to pick up the pieces, Manchester City would be hoping to defy their recent form in 2015. With 5 defeats and 3 draws in the 13 fixtures played in 2015, Manchester City have acquiesced the title race. And with the best they can hope for is a Champions League place, Manchester City should forget their recent miserable form.

Taking a look at the positives for Manchester City and although they are few, the return in form of the veteran striker Sergio Aguero should see them through against the hammers. After going 5 matches with a barren streak in terms of goals, Aguero has been back in form with his brace against local rivals.

Manchester City have lost 5 league games in 2015, they lost 4 in the whole of last season.

Taking a look at the teams new and there aren’t many good news either. With the trio of Bony, Clichy and Milner out for at-least a fortnight, the injury to Vincent Kompany in the Manchester derby has added salt to their wounds. Thus, we are expecting to see a lot of changes from the team that played last week.

Here is how Manchester City are expected to lineup against West Ham: –

Manchester City lineup:

Hart – DeMichellis – Mangala – Zabaleta – Kolarov – Fernandinho – Nasri – Silva – Toure – Aguero – Dzeko

Manchester City Vs West Ham will take place at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, 19th April.
