UEFA Champions League: How will Juventus lineup against AS Monaco

UEFA Champions League Match Preview

Sitting atop of the Serie A table with a 12-point lead over the 2nd place Roma, Juventus have all but won their 3rd successive Serie A trophy this season. While they are the most in-form team at the home-soil in the last 5 years, the recent record of Juventus in the Champions League is anything but palatable.

For a club that is so used to dominance both in Europe as well as domestic, the last decade of European football has failed to faze the trophy cabinet of the Old Lady of Turin.

However, it was until this season and with a fixture against the French money-giants AS Monaco looking their way, Juventus have a brilliant chance to make themselves counted among the top 4 sides in Europe.

With all due respect to AS Monaco and their giant-killing spree for which Arsenal were also victims, Juventus have a squad that has the ability to defy the odds in Champions League this season.

While they will be coming into this fixture after an extra-ordinary defeat against Parma, hopes will be high as far as Juventus will be concerned.

While they suffered some early set-backs in this competition with back to back defeats against Olympiakos and Atletico Madrid, Massimiliano Allegri’s side came back in the competition with stiff ambition. With a win against Borussia Dortmund their high point of the season, Juventus will be hoping to start from exactly where they left at the Iduna Park few weeks ago.

Looking at their performances in Europe over the past decade, and it has a word mishap written all over it. Since reaching the Final stage of the UEFA Champions League in 2005, Juventus have failed to qualify for the Champions League in the next 10-years.

With only a UEFA Europa League Semi-final to show for their efforts in the last decade, Juventus can better their record by getting the better of their guests on Tuesday.

Here is how they are expected to lineup against AS Monaco on Tuesday: –

Juventus lineup:

Buffon – Lichsteiner – Bonucci – Chiellini – Evra – Pereyra – Pirlo – Marchisio – Vidal – Morata – Tevez

Juventus Vs AS Monaco will take place at the Juventus Stadium on Tuesday, 14th April.
