UEFA Champions League: How will Juventus lineup against Monaco

UEFA Champions League Match Preview

Coming into this match with 4th consecutive Serie A title in their bag, Juventus would be hoping to enlarge their dominating territory towards the other parts of Europe. While in Italy they have been a force to reckon with since their return from the 2nd tier of Italian football, the Turin based side has forced to replicate its same form in UEFA Champions League. Thus, with a 1 goal advantage over their hosts in France, Juventus have a chance to do something which they haven’t been able to do in the past decade.

Last time Juventus were in the Semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League was way back in the 2002/03 season.

Looking at the other teams in Champions League that have reached this far, only Bayern Munich can boast of the same dominance at home as Juventus have been enjoying this season. Thus speaking ideally, the Old Lady have as good a chance as they would ever had to be enamored among the top 4 in Europe.

Looking at the form of their opponents at home this season, and Monaco are hardly a pushover for other teams. While they were survived a scare from Arsenal in the pre-quarter finals, Monaco are a brilliant unit defensively in the competition. Thus, with no proven goal-scorers in their squad, it has been their defense that has kept them afloat this far in the competition.

In their last 4 home games in the Champions League, Monaco have kept 3 clean-sheets.

So while Monaco appeared to be a hard-nut to crack for the Old Lady in Turin, the French money-bags will be a dangerous opposition at its home turf.

Here is how Juventus are expected to lineup against Monaco: –

Juventus Possible Starting lineup:

Buffon – Lichtsteiner – Bonucci – Chiellini – Evra – Vidal – Pirlo – Marchisio – Pereyra – Tevez – Morata

AS Monaco Vs Juventus will take place at the Stade Louis II Stadium on 22nd April.
