Manchester United to face Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain on Pre-Season tour

Manchester United News

After agreeing to the demands of their boss Louis Van Gaal to travel to America rather than Asia in the pre-season tour, the official Manchester United website has confirmed the pre-season plans for the summer of 2015.

And with their return to the Champions League football in hindsight, the Manchester United board have organized fixtures against heavy-weights of Europe in their trip to the US.

While Louis Van Gaal was animated last year with the amount of distance his Manchester United team had to cover to take part in subsequent fixtures, this time the fixtures are more carefully planned.

While they will take part in International Champions Cup once again – a tournament which they won last summer, they will play 4 matches in space of just 12 days to be back home in time for the start of Barclays Premier League.

Last time Manchester United flied over the Atlantic, there was a huge rush of people to see them everywhere they went. When they played Real Madrid at Michigan last summer, there was a record attendance of 109,318 people in the Michigan ground to see the two giants of European football collide.

Thus, while it was Real Madrid last season, Barcelona will lock their horns with the Red devils this summer. However, like last summer when Liverpool was also there, Paris Saint Germain have substituted the Reds in this summer’s competition. San Jose Earthquakes and Club America Seattle are the other 2 sides to feature in their pre-season tour.

Manchester United will kick-start their pre-season tour with a match against Club-America on July the 17th. After this, they will travel to San Jose Earthquakes on July the 21st.

After locking horns with two teams of the American soil, Manchester United will then go head to head with FC Barcelona on July the 25th after which they will travel to Chicago Soldier’s field to play against French giants Paris Saint Germain on 29th July.
