Chelsea transfer News: Paulo Dybala to snub Chelsea for Juventus move

Chelsea transfer News

Having enjoyed the company of the most lethal striker this season in terms of Diego Costa, Chelsea football club have re-ignited their never ending quest of goals for the summer transfer window. And while they rarely believe on home-grown talent for their striking department, the blues turned to Italy this time to get a new striker. However, unlike Juan Cuadrado who preferred a move to Chelsea without a hitch, Dybala has hinted that he would snub Chelsea in favor of more game time in Italy.

Currently on contract with the Italian mid-table side Palermo FC, the Argentine has attracted interest from a host of clubs in the past 6 months. While this interest is not unusual for a 21-year old who has been on his swansong this season, the price tag of 40-million-Euros that has been slapped on Dybala by the owner of the club seems ludicrous. However, with a deep pool of funds available at hand, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho inclined to pay that price tag.

Amongst teams that are in the bottom 10 positions in Serie A, Dybala has been the 2nd top scorer with 13 goals for Palermo

However for Dybala who is currently enjoying a purple patch in the Serie A, the Argentine has hinted that he would prefer a move to the domestic giants Juventus rather than a move away from Italy. This interview of Dybala, which is given by him to Gazzetta Dello Sport, has come at a time when rumors are circulating that Juventus have already bid 33-million-euros for his services to Palermo. Thus, at a time during which both clubs are engaged in meaningful talks, the timing of the Interview couldn’t have been much better.

“I love Italy. This is the country that made me famous and I would love to stay in Serie A,” he said.

“There are some big teams out there who don’t play in Champions League and I can’t deny that I’d love to play in Europe’s most prestigious competition.”

So with the talks ongoing and Palermo owner having previously declared that he would sell his prized asset to the highest bidder, Chelsea – even with their financial resources, can fall behind Juventus in the race to sign the Argentine.
