John Terry takes a dig at Arsenal: ‘’Tippy-tappy” football is pointless without titles

Chelsea News

In the aftermath of yesterday’s 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium after which the Chelsea Captain was seen as celebrating, John Terry has gone one step further in inflicting misery over the Arsenal faithful. While Chelsea were labelled as boring by Arsene Wenger in the buildup of this match, first Jose Mourinho and now John Terry has come in full force and has taken a swipe of their North London rivals.

While the match was 0-0 throughout, Arsenal fans chanted “Boring, Boring Chelsea” at the end to take a dig at Jose Mourinho and his strategy of grinding games out. While the tactics of Mourinho might seem boring to many, the fact that his Chelsea team might lift the Premier League title as early as next weekend is a thing that deserves huge applause.

In response to the questions made by the Journalists regarding the chants of Arsenal fans, Mourinho was furious and he responded in exact Mourinho fashion by taking a swipe at Arsenal’s Premier League drought in the last decade.

Following the footsteps of his managers, however in a less glamorous way, John Terry has questioned the logic of the pass and possession style of football with which Arsenal is normally associated these days. While he honored this style of the game, he question its importance without titles.

Possession is great. We could see that from the Manchester United game last week. Possession and tippy-tappy football’s great, but if you are not winning games you’re not going to win the league.”

Answering questions regarding the ‘’Boring-Chelsea” chants:

“We are definitely not boring and if we do go on to win it, nobody’s going to remember the performances when perhaps it’s not been that exciting,” said Terry. “We’ve dug deep and other teams haven’t, and that is why they are so far behind us.

While many can still argue regarding the style of play that Mourinho preaches, there is a little doubt that it has worked for him in over 4 countries during his career.
