Report: Liverpool owners set to give Brendan Rodgers 45million transfer budget for the summer

Liverpool Transfer News

When this Barclays Premier League season will end at the end of May, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will head to the American City Boston to have a know-how of this future. Starting this season with a place in the top 4 and a trophy as his objective, the failure of the Reds to meet any has piled the pressure on their manager. However, for the Liverpool owners who have tried this theory of sacking managers before in their short Liverpool tenure, they are looking inclined to give Brendan Rodgers a one last chance next season.

And if reports coming out from Belfast Telegraph are believed to be true, then the owners of the Fenway Sports Group are ready to provide their manager with a sizeable amount to spend in the summer transfer window. Although Liverpool spent over 100-million pounds next summer, a majority of that came from the departure of Luis Suarez. Thus, while Liverpool went into the transfer window with vengeance of recruiting new talents, the coffers of their owners were virtually unscathed.

Not this time though as in a season where Liverpool looks set to be without Champions League football, the revenues of the club won’t be as higher as in the 2014/15 season. However, the Liverpool owners are looking unfazed as they are set to award Brendan Rodgers with a 45million pound transfer kitty.

Although this is a very sizeable amount, Brendan Rodgers might have to add spend more looking at the number of players that are leaving Anfield. With Steven Gerrard set to join MLS, the majority of the infusion of the cash will be in the midfield department. However, just after 12 months of spending money on 2 strikers, Liverpool boss would again enter into the transfer window to gain new talent for his strike department.

Looking at the number of transfer targets which the Reds will be pursuing in the summer, the likes of the Dutch Memphis Depay along with Yevhen Konplyanka are on top of the wish list of Brendan Rodgers. While they may have to pay a good amount to lure Depay to Anfield, Konoplyanka will be a free agent this summer.
