Barclays Premier League: How will Chelsea lineup against Queens Park Rangers

English Premier League Match Preview

With a victory over strugglers Stoke City which has seen them to extend the gap over the top of Premier League table to 7-points, Chelsea are just at a distance of stone’s throw from the Premier League title. However, with Manchester United and Arsenal next to come after a trip to Loftus Road, the importance of this fixture has gone a notch up for Chelsea.

While they look all set to complete a domestic double this season, the un-scripted injury to Diego Costa might faze the plans of some early celebrations for the Chelsea folklore. With their main striker missing a gap of 19-goals to fill in their striking department, Jose Mourinho would have to deal with a headache of replacing the Spanish.

QPR were the first team beat Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge in his 2 spells as a Chelsea manager.

While there are other important things at hand, the ‘’booking factor’’ is extremely important for the London side in this fixture. With both Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic just a booking away from suspension, the midfield duo of Chelsea might be more cautious coming into this fixture. However, like a two sword arrow waiting in the horizon, the absence of Diego Costa has labelled Cesc Fabregas with more burden.

Fernando Torres is the only player for Chelsea to score a hat-trick in this particular fixture

Talking about the replacement of Costa and although Didier Drogba would earn more applause, it would be more palatable if Jose Mourinho decides to include the former QPR striker Loic Remy in his starting 11. While his opportunities have been few and far between since his move, Remy has shown the same flashes of brilliance with which he was associated at QPR.

Here is how Chelsea are expected to lineup in this fixture: –

Chelsea Starting lineup:

Courtois – Cahill – Ivanovic – Cahill – Terry – Azpilicueta – Ramires – Matic – Hazard – Fabregas – Willian – Remy

Queens Park Rangers Vs Chelsea will take place at the Loftus Road Stadium on Sunday, 12th April.
