Soccer Rumors: Manchester United will face tough competition in their quest to sign Marco Reus

Soccer News and Rumors:

The summer transfer window this year is expected to be one of the most interesting ones in recent years, as a lot of star player will most likely switch clubs. One of them is the current Borussia Dortmund player – Marco Reus. He is set to be become one of the most desired players during this summer, as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester United are the three clubs with the biggest chances of signing him. However, it’s currently unclear which team the German international favors at the moment.

“Reus has a contract until 2019, but Madrid’s interest is still very much alive and Volker Struth has spoke with the European champions this past week. However, aware of interest elsewhere, this does not mean the door is closed on alternative destinations. Arsenal, Manchester City and [Paris Saint-Germain] have also been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old, while Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal would also like to see him at Chelsea and Manchester United respectively.”

Manchester United has stated numerous times that signing Reus is one of their biggest priorities for the upcoming summer and that they will try as hard as possible to get him. It’s pretty easy to see why they are keen on him. Reus has been one of the lonely bright spots in Dortmund’s season. Furthermore, the fact that Jurgen Klopp is leaving Borussia Dortmund could be critical. Reus has always said how much he likes playing under him, and it won’t be a surprise if the German wing follows Klopp to his new club.

As a conclusion, I think that it is safe to say that Reus’ time in Borussia Dortmund is over. In the past couple of years, there were a lot of rumors surrounding him, but everything at the German club was looking okay, and they were competing hard in the Champions League and the Bundesliga. However, with the current string of events, Klopp’s departure and the club’s weak performance, it is more than likely that Reus will leave Dortmund. Barcelona and Real Madrid are the flashiest teams in the world at the moment, and it is very understandable why the German international could choose to join them. Nevertheless, if he picks Manchester United, one thing can be sure – he will immediately become a vital part of Louis van Gaal’s rotation.
