NBA Rumors: Rajon Rondo heading to the Los Angeles Lakers this summer?

Basketball, NBA News:

Rajon Rondo is definitely one of the biggest names that will become a free-agent during this summer and the fact that he hasn’t been able to fit in with the Dallas Mavericks makes him a player that will very likely switch team this summer. There is a couple of franchises that will most likely go after the point guard during the offseason, but the Los Angeles Lakers are arguably the biggest favorite to sign him. They desperately need better players on their roster after the disastrous season they endured.

Rajon Rondo is a bit of a risky investment, but if he is 100% healthy, he is worth it.

“Rondo might be hard to coach, but he’s respected by players around the league and it’s never a bad thing to have a pass-first point guard. I wouldn’t commit to this course without doing due diligence on Marc Gasol, LaMarcus Aldridge and others, but the Lakers need to get someone this summer as it’s the last summer they’ll have more cap space than everyone else.”

The Los Angeles Lakers definitely need a big name to join the team and if they can sign one, the second star will be easier to get. Kobe Bryant has stated multiple times that he likes Rondo, and we all know that the organization values the Mamba’s opinion highly. Furthermore, he showed a bit of disappointment from the fact that the Lakers didn’t trade in order to acquire the point-guard during the regular season.

Rajon Rondo didn’t show a lot of what made him a star during his time with the Dallas Mavericks (at least in the regular season), but he is still one of the best passers in the league and is a born leader. The Lakers will strongly benefit from having him on their roster, as he will also attract other stars to join the team.
