Serie A transfer Rumors: Manchester United and Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus?

Serie A Transfer Rumors

With Carlos Tevez set to return to his homeland Argentina at the end of this season, Juventus are reportedly looking for a striker that could fill the void that would be created by the departure of Argentine.

Having scored 18 goals this season and being a major reason of Juventus clinching their 4th successive Serie A title, Tevez would be an indispensable miss for the Old Lady next season. However, to minimize the damage, they’re looking towards the former Real Madrid player to be an answer to their prayers.

While Tevez has been an un-stoppable force in Serie A this season, the callous looking Higuain isn’t far behind if the goals are concerned. While Napoli had an in-different season this time around with constant defeats scathing their bid for a Champions League place, Higuain has been in form throughout the season.

With his 13 goals and 7 assists in the 2014/15 season, Higuain has been responsible for 37% of the goals that Napoli has managed. So while he will definitely be a big miss for the Naples based side, his move would guarantee another prolific striker at the helm for Juventus.

While this would be a brilliant signing for the Old Lady, there will be teams in the Barclays Premier League who will be sobbing on the completion of this move. Leading the transfer rumor mill for his signature have been Arsenal and while they have Olivier Giroud who is scoring goals for fun, Higuain would have proved to be a definite upgrade on the French.

Manchester United have also been his admirers and with the future of two of their main strikers in doubt, the Old Trafford residents might still pursue a move for the Argentine. However, with Juventus entering the race and leading it from the offset, the price tag for the Argentine might rocket-up if a bidding war ensues.
