Spain, Primera Division: After Barcelona draw against Sevilla we are facing another dramatic finale of Primera Division

Spain – Primera Division:

Couple of days ago we talk about the fight in England Premiership for spots in UEFA Champions League. In Spain Primera Division before this round, most sport analysts agree that Barcelona will be a new champion no matter that there was still 9 games to play. Today both of top team played their games of round 31 and we can only say that we are expecting another exciting ending of Primera Division. Real Madrid manages to beat Eibar without any big problems 3-0 while Barcelona had much tougher task tonight against Sevilla. Barcelona quickly scored two goals and after only 30’ at Ramona Sanchez stadium Barcelona was leading 2-0. But only eight minutes later Banega scored for 1-2 and then in 84’ Gameiro score for 2-2. With this draw and after 31 rounds Primera table looks like this:

  1. Barcelona 75 pts

  2. Real Madrid 73 pts

Vicente Calderon most unpleasant visit for Barcelona

In the last seven rounds Barcelona will go against 4th Valencia (18.04) and 3rd Atletico Madrid (15.05). Barcelona also has “Derbi Barceloni” or a game between Espanyol and Barcelona (25.04). The rest four rounds Barcelona will go against Real Sociedad, Getafe, Cordoba and Deportivo La Coruna. If we take a look in last head-to-head (home vs. away), then things for Barcelona look like this:

  • (H) Valencia 5 wins 1 loss

  • (A) Espanyol 5 wins 1 loss

  • (H) Getafe 5 wins 1 draw

  • (A) Cordoba 2 wins

  • (H) Real Sociedad 6 wins

  • (A) Atletico Madrid 3 win 3 draw

  • (H) Deportivo La Coruna 5 wins 1 draw

Ramona Sanchez crucial place for Real title

Real Madrid got similar schedule as Barcelona, they will play also against Valencia (10.05), Espanyol (15.05) and Getafe (25.05). While the only difference is that they will go against 5th team in Primera Sevilla (02.05) while Barcelona is going against Atletico Madrid. The rest of Real games are against Almeria, Celta Vigo and Malaga. Let’s take a similar head-to-head comparison similar like we did with Barcelona:

  • (H) Malaga 5 wins 1 draw

  • (A) Celta Vigo 4 win 2 loss

  • (H) Almeria 5 wins

  • (A) Sevilla 3 win 3 loss

  • (H) Valencia 3 win 3 draw

  • (A) Espanyol 5 wins 1 draw

  • (H) Getafe 6 wins

Who will be first at the end?

With all this info it’s hard to say what team got advantage, both teams have some strong opponents to play until the end. For Barcelona crucial game will be against Atletico Madrid while for Real it will definitely be game against Sevilla. One thing is for sure, after Premiership battle for UEFA Champions League Primera join with the dramatic title fight.
