As the summer transfer window is coming closer, the number of rumors is growing. The latest one regards Real Madrid and Manchester City’s striker Sergio Aguero. There are reports that the Whites will try and sign the striker and are ready to make a huge £70 million bid in order to get him. Aguero is definitely a very talented and skillful striker, but the question is – does Real Madrid need one more striker?
The boss of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez is a big fan of Sergio Aguero, and there is a big reason for that. Even though, the Argentinian striker has fought injury problems all season long, he is still among the Premier League’s best players. He is third among goal scorers, with seventeen. Furthermore, Aguero is first when it comes to the number of goals + assists in the Premier League – he has 23. The strikers are truly one of the best in his position, as he possesses magnificent skills – amazing dribbler, great positioning, incredible sprint speed and many more.
The amount of £70 million that Real Madrid is ready to pay for him looks a bit too much, but Aguero is one of the few players in the world that is capable to justify this price tag. Nevertheless, as we mentioned, the question is – is Aguero needed in Real Madrid? The Whites currently own an impressive trio of attackers, consisted of Ronaldo, Bale, and Benzema, which means that one of them has to sit on the bench if Aguero is signed. The other option is to sell one of those players, but Perez has stated that he doesn’t want to do that. This leads us to the dilemma – where will Aguero fit in?
As a conclusion, we can say that it’s very doubtful that Manchester City will give up easily Aguero, even for such an impressive price tag. And even if they do, will Real Madrid really go after him after they have such an impressive offensive arsenal? We can’t say for sure what is going to happen, so we can only wait until the summer and see what decisions the two clubs will make.
