NBA News: Paul George to make a season debut against the Miami Heat on Sunday

Basketball, NBA News:

The Indiana Pacers have announced that their superstar guard, Paul George is set to make a season debut on Sunday when the Indiana Pacers host the Miami Heat at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. George missed the entire campaign until now after he suffered a broken leg injury during a Team USA scrimmage in August last year. There were reports back then which announced that the player probably won’t be able to recover from the gruesome injury until the end of the current season. However, George has proved everybody wrong, and we will be able to see him in a Pacers uniform very soon.

“The recovery has been a long process, and this is another step in the process,” said George. “I thank everyone, my family, friends, doctors, our training staff, coaches, the entire Pacers’ family for their support and encouragement. I’m excited, but at the same time I’m aware I’m still in a rehab stage and will continue to work to get back to full strength.”

There were a lot of discussions prior to this announcement, whether George should actually return to action so soon. First, everybody was stating that he should rest and not hurry, in order for his leg to heal better. Furthermore, a lot of experts and George himself said that he shouldn’t come back because Indiana has found an identity without him, and he would be chemistry problem if he returns.

Nevertheless, it’s evident that all those worries are in the past, and Paul George will return to the NBA. He has worked very hard to reach this point, but he will certainly have to work even harder from this moment. It’s never easy to return to rhythm after so much out of action, but in my opinion, Paul George has everything that it takes to do it.
