Barclays Premier League: How will Arsenal lineup against Burnley

English Premier League Match Preview

With their callous defeat over Liverpool last weekend which left their hosts stunned, scathed and bewildered, Arsene Wenger will now be rallying his vanguard to tackle relegation threatened Burnley at the latter’s home soil. Even though Burnley is sitting at the wrong end of the table for now, their victory over Manchester City epitomizes their work-rate in the last few weeks of this season.

In their last 5 away matches in the Premier League, Arsenal have won 4, with a solitary defeat coming at White Hart Lane

Talking about form and although Arsenal rallied in numbers to drown Liverpool a week ago, Olivier Giroud is currently one of the most lethal striker in the Premier League. While this is his 3rd season at the English soil – Giroud got goals in double figures in each of the last two seasons.

However, what differentiates him this season is the stature of the teams against whom he is scoring. And with 14 goals already in the 15 starts that he has managed this season, the goal-conversion ratio of the Frenchman ranks there with the best in business. And with Arsenal going into the last stage of this season with one eye on the Premier League title, the form of Olivier Giroud will be crucial in deciding the final position of Arsenal at the end of May.

Olivier Giroud is just 2 goals short of equaling his all-time best tally in a Premier League season for Arsenal.

Talking about the team news and although injury and Arsenal seemed synonymous for the most part of this season, Arsene Wenger would have as many players to choose from as he had in the whole of this season in deciding his starting 11 for this match.

Arsenal have won 10 of their last 9 matches in the Premier League, scoring 25 goals in the process.

With Abou Diaby, Jack Wilshere and Mikel Arteta all returning to full match fitness, it would be interesting to see how Wenger would decorate his bouquet of players in the starting 11. However, one minor problem would be the injury of Laurent Koscielny as the defender is still struggling from that knee injury which he sustained against Liverpool.

Here is how Arsenal are expected to lineup against Burnley on the weekend: –

Arsenal starting lineup:

Ospina – Bellerin – Mertesacker – Gabriel – Monreal – Ramsey – Coquelin – Sanchez – Ozil – Welbeck – Giroud

Burnley Vs Arsenal will take place at the Turf Moor Stadium on Saturday, 11th April.
