Barclays Premier League: Should Manchester United keep Louis Van Gaal as head-coach?

Soccer, Premier League News:

The first of Louis van Gaal as head-coach of Manchester United has been more of a disappointment than a success. The current position of the Red Devils in the Barclay’s Premier League is satisfactory, but the way that the club has played all season long has raised a lot of question marks whether Van Gaal is the right man for the job. The Red Devils were once the beast of England, dominating its opponents and winning big, but the Dutchman’s version of the club isn’t anywhere close to this definition. Wins have come pretty hard and defeats have been awful. Nevertheless, unless there is total drop in the standings between now and May, Louis van Gaal should continue coaching the Red Devils.

Van Gaal is a manager that has proven himself as one of the best in the world, with a lot of experience and ability to overcome big hurdles. Success in the past is not why coaches keep their job, it’s usually what they do at the moment that makes sure they remain at a specific club. In this case, Van Gaal is currently on target with United’s demands. No one thought that the club would be able to contend for the title in England – instead, everyone just wanted to see Manchester playing in the UEFA Champions League once again. It won’t be easy for Van Gaal and his men to retain their current position in the standings, but United has shown in their important matches thus far. They have beaten Liverpool and Arsenal, had a draw with Chelsea and gave Manchester City a pretty hard time, but eventually lost 1:0 at the Etihad.

The style which Manchester has played under Van Gaal isn’t exactly what everyone expected, but it’s still just the beginning. If the Dutchman remains head-coach of the club, he will be able to build on this season’s performance and achieve better results. He surely deserves a second season as a manager and if United give him the opportunity to stay, it will most probably be a win-win situation.
