EURO 2016 Qualification: Diego Costa withdrawn from Spain national team for upcoming games against Ukraine and friendly against Netherland

EURO 2016 Qualification:

After the club finished their round last weekend, during this weekend and in next midweek we will watch national teams battle in another round of European Championship qualifications.

After last week injury against Hull City, Diego Costa is withdrawn from Spain national team once more. After the Hull City game Costa left for Spain training camp, but after he arrived and went true medical check, medical team diagnosed him with grade one hamstring tear. He then returns to Chelsea for a medical treatment. Soon after that Spain Football Association publish a statement saying:

“The striker suffered a grade one hamstring injury on his left thigh, as noted by the doctors at his club, and the doctors of RFEF (Spain football federation) recommend that he does not take part in the next games against Ukraine and the Netherlands. Diego Costa returns to Chelsea where he will receive the proper treatment.”

On EURO qualification, Spain is now in Group C on 2nd place behind Slovakia with same amount points as 3rd Ukraine. These two teams are playing important game on Friday at Estadio Ramon Sánchez in Sevilla. With 13 goals in four games Spain is now second team with most scored goals (Poland is first with 15 goals) and Diego Costa will definitely miss Spain team. In this EURO qualification Diego Costa played only two games for Spain national team, against Slovakia (1-2) on 9 October and three days later against Luxembourg (4-0) where he scored his only goal for Spain national team in this qualifications. Spain coach Vicente del Bosque will probably once more start with young Valencia striker Paco Alcacer and Barcelona attacker Pedro Rodriguez in this important game.
