It has been reported that the front office has already made a decision regarding the future of the struggling Angel Di Maria. They will most likely let the Argentinian walk away this summer, even though they paid £59.7 million to get him last year. The main reason is that his form has been steadily declining since the beginning of the season, as he certainly hasn’t been the player everyone expected. Furthermore, not only will Di Maria possibly leave the Red Devils, but they have already found a replacement for him – Barcelona’s Pedro.
Even though Di Maria is clearly the more talented player between them two, he has been a disastrous fit. He was the second best player in Real Madrid, but it seems that the life in England certainly doesn’t appeal to him. The reports are that Manchester United will go after Pedro in the summer transfer window, as the 27-year-old Barcelona player has expressed desire to leave his current club. Pedro has been receiving very little playing this season, because there just isn’t a place for him in the attack anymore. He’s a very talented guy, and he has contributed a lot for Barcelona in the last several years, but the attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar has been terrific this season. The fact that he has become more of a substitute than an important player in Barcelona, will make it even easier for the club to part ways with him. Even if he doesn’t get transferred to Manchester United, expect Pedro to be playing for a new team in the next season.
Even though Angel Di Maria has a reputation of a game changer and one of the best players in the world, it seems that playing in the Premier League isn’t what he was made for. He has looked very demotivated on the field and that is why Manchester United will most likely let him go in the summer. It could be a big mistake, because Di Maria could just need time to adapt. However, there have already been a lot of reports that Di Maria’s future is already decided and it will be away from Old Trafford.
