Premier League News: Manchester City's roster will be a lot different next season

Soccer, Premier League News:

The team of Manchester City is look towards a disappointing end of the season, as they have already been eliminated in the UEFA Champions League and it’s very likely that they won’t win the Premier League. Lately, there have been reports that the Citizens’ front office plans to bring a lot of new players during the summer transfer window. City is planning to spend about £200 million to rebuild their roster. The main problem with the current squad is that they are a bit too old. The average age of Manchester City’s players is 28.9 years.

A lot of the players on the current roster are starting to show signs of aging, and it’s believed that they are past their prime. The list includes guys like Yaya Toure (31), David Silva (29), Fernandinho (29), Pablo Zabaleta (29) and Martin Demichelis (34). All those players are performing quite well this season, but their form will probably go down in the next couple of years. That is why the team is thinking about bringing new faces.

Manchester City is currently under the restrictions of the Financial Fair Play. However, they will most likely be set free very soon. The team has posted very good financial results in the last year, which means that the Citizens will have the right to make big changes to their squad.

Furthermore, it’s very likely that Manuel Pellegrini could be on his way out of the coaching job in Manchester City. He has done a good job with the team, but he hasn’t been exactly exceptional. Pellegrini has led City to a couple of titles in the Barclay’s Premier League. However, they have struggled in Europe. The Citizens haven’t reached the quarter-finals in all of their Champions League participations.

The biggest transfer target for City is the Juventus midfielder, Paul Pogba. However, it will be quite hard to bring him at the Etihad, as a lot of European clubs want Pogba. The list of players of players which Manchester City has been linked with is far too big to discuss, so just expect for the club to go after a lot of guys.
