It has been recently reported that Neymar’s teammates have been quite unhappy with his behavior lately. Their reaction came mainly from what the Brazilian star did he was substituted against Eibar on Saturday. It’s not one hundred percent sure if this story is true, but it’s definitely believable, as Neymar has a tendency of reacting badly to substitutes.
“Madrid-based El Confidencial kicked things off with a story claiming some members of the Barca dressing room were upset with Neymar after he showed frustration at being substituted early against Eibar. Unnamed teammates apparently did not like that the Brazilian, who had a four-day break in his home country last week, did not show more ‘empathy’ with his fellow players.”
Pedro substituted Neymar with 20 minutes remaining in the Barcelona-Eibar match and the Brazilian definitely didn’t look very happy. It’s definitely interesting if this story is true or it is just something made up before the El Clasico.
The media also tried to get into the heads of Real Madrid players, as it stated that Cristiano Ronaldo was unhappy with the fact that Gareth Bale scored. It really looked like Ronaldo made an unhappy gesture, but it could have been easily from a disappointment that his own bicycle kick didn’t go in.
Nevertheless, the team that goes to the El Clasico with a mental advantage could have a critical advantage. The team that wins this match will have an enormous advantage as the season goes along. However, it should be noted that the rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid is often bigger than football, as every year there are a lot of scandals surrounding the derby. It will be more than interesting to watch the upcoming game, as it could serve as a decider for the La Liga title.
