Premier League Rumors: Manchester City looking to steal De Bruyne from United

Soccer News and Rumors:

Manchester City was once again eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, and the front office is starting to look for answers how to be better next season. It has been reported that the Citizen will try to sign Wolfsburg’s star, Kevin De Bruyne. However, Manchester City is not the only club interested in the Belgium international player. Their city rivals, Manchester United, are also trying to get De Bruyne on their roster.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder has attracted a lot of transfer rumors lately, mainly because of his fantastic form this season. He has scored 14 goals and assisted for another 22, which is quite a remarkable achievement for such a young player. De Bruyne has been the engine of Wolfsburg throughout the entire campaign and one of the main reasons for the team’s solid performance.

Before De Bruyne joined Wolfsburg, he was part of Chelsea but couldn’t earn enough playing time to showcase his talents. However, in the Bundesliga he received the freedom he needed and started playing like an elite player. Because of those performances, Manchester City and Manchester United are so keen to sign him – he will help both teams on the field.

Nevertheless, the Citizen will surely try everything to sign him, as they are the club that needs De Bruyne the most. United has a lot of other options in the midfield area while City is in need of a creative player that can run the offense.

However, there is one “tiny” detail. It’s not very likely that the player himself wants to return to the Premier League. Wolfsburg isn’t keen on selling the young star and will most likely offer him a new contract in the summer. Furthermore, Wolfsburg will most likely qualify for the next edition of the Champions League, so De Bruyne will give everyone an idea how good he is amongst the best in Europe. It will be very interesting what exactly will happen, but I doubt that the Belgium player will leave Germany. At least this summer.
