Anthony Davis has been looking scary good this season. There isn’t an NBA fan that can’t say this isn’t true. Even if you aren’t a fan of the New Orleans Pelicans or Anthony Davis, he is just too good to be denied the respect he deserves. The big man is walking double-double machine, capable of scoring, rebounding, blocking shots and playmaking. Even though he is still 22 years old, he is doing things that a lot of the more experienced players can’t even think of. Take, for example, his stat line of 36 points, 14 rebounds, nine blocks and seven assists from the Pelicans game against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Davis almost finished with a quadruple-double. Furthermore, it’s worth mentioning that no other player has been able to post such numbers in the last 30 years.
Anthony Davis is a game-changer, even at such young age. It’s hard to believe that an NBA player can be so mature, even though he doesn’t have a lot of experience in the league. Davis is currently shooting 59.9 percent from the floor during fourth quarters this season, which automatically puts him in the elite company of the best finishers in the game.
Davis has shown that he has the touch of LaMarcus Aldridge and Dirk Nowitzki from midrange, but his athleticism is amazing compared to the two veterans. Neither, Aldridge or Nowitzki have ever had the running or jumping abilities of Davies, so that is why they have developed their midrange games so much. Davis, however, has crazy physical abilities.
“I’ve done quite a few things, but I think I’m nowhere near where I want to be,” Davis stated after the Pelicans lost against the Nuggets “I have a lot to learn about the game, about myself.”
Even though it sounds strange to hear something from a guy that has just posted 36 points, 14 rebounds, nine blocks and seven assists, Davis has a point. His performances throughout the season have been getting better and better, which means that he will still continue to grow. Expect him to be the best player in the NBA very soon.
