In the midweek Bayern Munich demolish Ukraine Shakhtar Donetsk in round of 16 of UEFA Champions League, after 0-0 they demolish Shakhtar 7-0 at their Allianz Arena in Munich. But Bayern lost two important players for upcoming Bundesliga game against Werder Bremen this Saturday.
Arjen Robben had to leave the pitch after only 19’ of the game against Shakhtar and on the same game after 59’ Franck Ribery had to leave the pitch also because of the injury. After medical exams both of the players are diagnose injuries Ribery has suffered sprained ankle and Robben has trapped nerve, and now it’s still unclear how long will both be out of the field. Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola said that they cannot compensate for the lack of those two players in Saturday and upcoming games. Guardiola said that they lost quality in one on one situation but no matter that they will try to beat the statistic. Bayern Munich scored 21 goals in last 4 games, which is little over 5 goals per game, so that is what they will try to beat in their game against Werder.
This season Arjen Robben is star player of Bayern Munich this season, in Bundesliga he scored 17 goals from 19 games and has 7 assists. Franck Ribery didn’t have that many appearances this season, after coming back from World Cup with an injury he made only 9 appearances in Bundesliga scoring 5 goals and add 7 assists. Both of these players were for a long time now main treat in Bayern Munich attack. For the game against Werder with Robben and Ribery, Guardiola cannot count on Xabi Alonso, Thiago Alcantara and Javi Martinez.
Bayern Munich might be in problems according to their coach who said that he cannot replace Ribery and Robben for the upcoming games
