NBA News: A healthy Dwyane Wade is still a superstar in the NBA

Basketball, NBA News:

In the last couple of seasons, Dwyane Wade has had a lot of injuries that have kept him out of the game for a significant amount of time. Because of those injuries, a lot of people have stated that the Miami Heat player can’t be anything more than a good role player now. However, this season Wade has proven everybody wrong. The Flash was injured for a huge chunk of the campaign, but since he’s been back in the lineup, Wade has been the elite player of old.

The 33-year-old guard has shown us that he still possesses the skill that made him a superstar a couple of years ago. Wade will still miss some time because of his age, but his latest performances have made it clear why he is worth the trouble. The stats that he has posted over the last six matches are 28.7 points on 54.4 percent shooting, 4.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in 33.1 minutes of action. Miami is the only team that possesses such kind of a weapon amongst the squads that are fighting for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. If the Heat manage to get in the postseason, they will surely be a tough opponent because of the experience and star power they have.

“I know what it means,” Wade stated. “We’re in a tight race right now, and every night I want to be able to say that I gave everything I could to this team, and help us put ourselves in position to get a playoff spot.”

Wade is widely known for his style of play and that he leaves everything on the floor when it matters most. He has been the heart and soul of Miami this season and the team is looking a lot different when he is in uniform.

“You can go to him any time of the game,” Goran Dragic said of Wade. “Even if he misses three or four straight, he’s confident enough to finish the job. That’s why he’s an All-Star. You can count on him when you need him the most.”

It will be more than interesting if the Heat can manage to finish on the seventh spot in the East, which will mean that we will watch a playoff series between Miami and Cleveland. The South Beach squad has already defeated them twice this season and it will be amazing if they eliminate them during the postseason. If this happens, we all know who is going to be the masterpiece behind it – a healthy Dwyane Wade.
