Barclays Premier League: Predicted Manchester United lineup to face Newcastle United

English Premier League Match Preview:

Manchester United will travel to Newcastle on Wednesday night to fortify their grip on the 4th spot. With Liverpool knocking at their door in the recent weeks, every fixture is turning out to be a must-win fixture for both sides. While Southampton and Tottenham have lost steam in the recent weeks, Liverpool are looking like a potent threat to Manchester United.

Talking about Newcastle and since Alan Pardew parted ways with the Geordies, they are lingering from the uncertainty that surrounded them for the most of last season.

Coming back to the Red devils, Manchester United are the 6th best team in the Premier League when the last 6 matches are kept as an example. With 4 wins in their last 6 fixtures and a defeat coming their way in the mean-time, Manchester United are sitting comfortably in the 4th spot, just 1 behind Arsenal.

Although Manchester United have struggled with the form of Radamel Falcao, the Red devils have been with the goals this season. With 46 goals in 27 matches having conceded just 26, Manchester United is the only team have two strikers with goals in double figures.

With both Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie scoring 10 goals each, the veteran strikers have done well to keep Manchester United in contention for return to the Champions League.

Thus, even though they acquired new talent in the summer which took time to gel, the Red devils have been pretty miser when it comes to conceding goals. After the likes of Liverpool and Southampton who have conceded 5 goals each in 2015, Red devils come 3rd as they have allowed in just 6 goals.

However, pointing out the source of concern, the clean-sheets have dried up for Manchester United in recent weeks. While David de Gea kept 6 clean sheets before the end of 2014, the form of the Spaniard has taken a dip as he has kept just 2 in the next 8 games. So with the race for the top 4 getting hotter by the weak, Manchester United fans would be expecting their keeper to find his lost form.

Here is how the Red devils are expected to lineup against Newcastle: –

Manchester United lineup:

• David de Gea • Jonny Evans • Marcos Rojo • Chris Smalling • Antonio Valencia • Daley Blind • Ander Herrera• Adnan Januzaj• Ashley Young• Falcao • Wayne Rooney

Newcastle United Vs Manchester United will take place at the St. James Park on Wednesday 4th March.
