Monday transfer Rumors: Raphael Varane to Manchester United?

Manchester United transfer News:

For a team that was the most in-form in the last summer transfer window, Manchester United are again planning their targets for the upcoming summer. While they opted to go for attacking players last summer, the Red devils are now looking for defensive prospects, much to the amusement of Red devils’ fans. Being labelled as one of the most prized asset in the World of football, Raphael Varane is the current defender that has been linked with Manchester United.

As far as Raphael Varane is concerned, the Frenchman was termed as the long-term prospect of LOS BLANCOS when he signed for them in the summer of 2011 from Lens. However, despite the fact that he has been given 17 appearances in the White shirt this season, the Frenchman is reportedly unhappy about his game time.

Manchester United are one of the long-term admirers of the French and they are reported to be again in the race to get his signature. While they gone with ‘’attack is the best form of defense’’ proverb last summer, Manchester United are looking to learn from their mistakes.

Having separated from the likes of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand last season, it was a common consensus amongst the Red devil’s fans that a top defender would be their priority. However, Louis Van Gaal has his own ways of doing things as the Dutchman vowed to make the best with the players that were at the Old-Trafford even before his arrival.

In the last 7 matches for Manchester United, the Red devils have kept only 1 clean-sheet and this might be the factor that can force the Dutchman to go for the French prodigy. While at one hand Manchester United are pulling the strings to get his signature, Varane is also itching for a move away from Real Madrid to get more first team-action.

Reported as a player who would cost Manchester United more than 25million pounds, Varane can be available to the Red devils for 30million pounds. But with Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger also in his pursuit, the price tag of Varane could escalate if a tug of war situation arises.
