Another EHF club competition EHF Cup is playing group phase, 16 teams divided in 4 groups are battling for the chance to go into quarter-finals. Two best teams from each group will go into quarter-finals and play for a spot in final four in Berlin.
After 4 round only one team secure quarter finals. German team MT Melsungen is the only team with 4 wins from 4 games and with 8 points they will be taking first or second place in Group D. In Group a Gorenje Velenje and HSV Hamburg are holding first and second place with 6 points. This round they didn’t have any big problems and secure 2 new points, HSV Hamburg was better than Haslum Handball klub 36-26 and Gorenje beat Pfadi Winterthur 30-26. In next round these two teams go head-to-head.
In Group B Team Tvis Holstebro is first with 7 points and BM Granollers is second with 5 points. HCM Constanta is third with 3 points but still have chances for quarter-final, especial with this round win over BM Granollers. Tvis Holstebro will probably take the first place in this group and second team will probably be decided in last round them HCM Constanta is playing against Team Tvis Holstebro.
Group C is now the most interesting group. We got three teams that are only two points away and last two rounds will be interesting. Fuchse Berlin and Skjern are first two teams with 6 points, Futebol Clube do Porto is on third place with 4 points and Vojvodina is last without any points. In this round we saw a head-to-head clash between leading Skjern and Fuchse. In though game Berlin manage to break Skjern in second half and to win 29-24. In the next round Fuchse will go against Clube do Porto and if Fuchse win this game that would mean that Porto is out.
In last Group D we already got MT Melsungen who secures the place in quarter-finals. Second is Eskilstuna Guif with 4 points and Nexe is third with 3 points. Both of these clubs have to play against MT Melsungen until the end and those games will decide the second team from this group.
