Barclays Premier League: How will Arsenal lineup against QPR

English Premier League Match Preview:

After recording an impressive win against a struggling Everton side on the weekend, Arsenal would go into this match as a confident bunch. While they experienced a difficult 90 minutes at home against the French side Monaco – which has left their European future in doubt, Arsenal’s recent form in the Premier League perches them at 2nd place in the form guide over the last 6 matches. Having won 8 of the last 10 matches in the Premier League, Arsenal will be going into this match as the clear favorites.

Here is how Arsenal might lineup against Queens Park Rangers: –

David Ospina

Although the Colombian made his Premier League debut in 2015 – 6 months after his arrival at the English soil, David Ospina has kept more clean-sheets in 7 League games than Wojceich Szczesny in 17 games for Arsenal. Thus there is little doubt that barring any injury, Ospina might finish this season as the number 1 goal-keeper for the Gunners.

Hector Bellerin

Although the German wasn’t at his lighting best against the Toffees on Sunday, lack of backup options will hand the German his 14th appearance for the Gunners this season. In the absence of Debuchy who has been out of long term, the German has to update his passing if he wants to be a regular full back for the Gunners.

Gabriel Paulista

When Paulista was signed by Arsenal in the January transfer window, he was promised as a player that would deliver in big matches. And looking at his performance against Lukaku where he valiantly denied Lukaku breathing space, Per Mertesacker can be out from the Arsenal team for long due to the performance level of his colleague.

Laurent Koscielny

Although Arsenal did keep a clean-sheet against a brave Everton side, Koscielny handed his team-mates some nightmares to handle. But as the game progressed against Everton, Koscielny looked more like a player that he was last season and there is no reason why he shouldn’t start for the Gunners on Wednesday.

Kieran Gibbs

In the presence of Nacho Monreal at the helm, many predicted that the Englishman would have to fight his place. And looking at his performances this season, the Englishman has fought valiantly for his position and is now earning rewards by being a first-team player for the Arsenal starting XI.

Francis Coquelin

Since making dream start for the Gunners in that 2-0 win at Manchester City, the performance levels of the Frenchman were going down a bit. But like a blessing in disguise, that thumping by AS Monaco has looked to serve him well personally, as the French looked more like a player that rocketed his performance at the Etihad 2 months ago.

Santi Cazorla

As they say that football is a game of two halves, Santi Cazorla is a prime example of this proverb. Being on top of his game of late, the Spaniard has experienced a dip in form and an away trip to Loftus Road might become the ideal venue for Cazorla to regain his composure.

Mesut Ozil

For a player who is destined to fail in big games for the Gunners, the German is bound to perform in matches like these. And with QPR struggling with the age factor of their defenders, Mesut Ozil can run riot at Loftus road.

Alexis Sanchez

Although the concept of mirror images is limited to science, the career of the Colombian at Arsenal looks like exactly the same as of Mesut Ozil. Arriving at the Emirates with a bang before starting to struggle, the Colombian is currently undergoing an average form.

Danny Welbeck

When Theo Walcott returned from his injury, it was thought that Welbeck would experience same difficulties like he managed at the Old Trafford. But credit to the trust of Arsene Wenger and the performance of the Englishman himself, Welbeck has been a constant starter for Arsenal since then.

Olivier Giroud

Although his Arsenal career hit an all time low when he was substituted after missing clear opportunities against AS Monaco, he responded bravely with a goal against Everton on the weekend. And with Arsenal fans currently preparing a new chant for the Frenchman, Giroud can put that miserable performance behind him for good.

QPR Vs Arsenal will be played at the Loftus road, on Wednesday 4th March.
