World Handball Championship:

Group C:

  1. [Q] Sweden 3-0-0 +30

  2. [Q] France 2-1-0 +7

  3. [Q] Egypt 2-0-1 +13

  4. Iceland 1-1-1 0

  5. Czech Republic 0-0-3 -20

  6. Algeria 0-0-3 -30

Czech Republic – Egypt 24-27 (10-13)

In a strong game Egypt manage to beat Czech and secures their spot into the next round. In a close game Egypt manage to get +2 in 14th  and until the halftime they manages keep the goal difference. Czech started better in second half and in 32’ it was 13-13. Again the hero was Egypt goalkeeper who makes two crucial saves that enable his team to go on 18-16. Until the end Egypt didn’t allow Czech to close the goal difference and with this win Egypt secure their spot in next round.

Sweden – Algeria 27-19 (15-6)

Sweden didn’t allow any surprises in their game against Algeria. Algeria manages to keep the pace in only first few minutes, after that Sweden start to make their huge goal difference. Until the halftime it was +9 for Sweden. In second half Sweden coach rest some key players but their victory was never question. With this two points Sweden also secure their spot into the next round.

France – Iceland 26-26 (12-14)

Probably the best game of yesterday schedule. France opens the game better and took the lead but Iceland quickly manages to catch them and in 16’ it was 7-7. At that point Iceland defense looked strong and they give Iceland opportunity to go on +2 at halftime. In second half we saw a comeback from injury from Daniel Narcisse with him on the field France attack start to be more dangerous. At that point the game was played goal by goal. In 55’ France had +2 on the score board but Iceland manages to equal the score just little over one minute until the end. Iceland had the last attack after excellent save by their goalkeeper but they didn’t manage to score.

Group D:

  1. Germany 2-1-0 +4

  2. Denmark 1-2-0 +20

  3. Poland 2-0-1 -1

  4. Argentina 1-1-1 +11

  5. Russia 1-0-2 +8

  6. Saudi Arabia 0-0-3

Argentina – Saudi Arabia 32-20 (13-11)

This game was similar to many others on this World Handball Championship. We saw strange first half in which Argentina didn’t manage to get major lead and second in which we saw completely different Argentina. We saw some spectacular goals by Argentina and at the end they manage to secure their first win in Championship.

Poland – Russia 26-25 (12-13)

Another poor finish for Russia and another lost game for them. In a hard game full of errors Poland manage to beat Russia in finish of the game. During entire match score was close and goal difference vary between +2 for Russia to +2 for Poland. Russia enter last eight minutes with +3 (24-21), but that wasn’t enough and Polish veteran Adam Wisniewski scored deciding goal 70 seconds before the end.

Denmark – Germany 30-30 (16-16)

Denmark draw another game in this championship, but only this time it wasn’t such a surprise as their draw against Argentina in first round. What to say about the defense of teams if each team scores 16 goals in halftime. Similar to Poland versus Russia game this was also very close game. In second half Germany manage to get themselves +3 but after received double suspension Denmark quickly get back into the game. Germany manages to get the last attack 1:26 minutes before the end but they had one unnaturally long attack and game end in draw.
