The 24-year old football star, Gabriel Paulista confirms signing of £11.2million transfer contract with Arsenal. The Gunners had been keeping eye on this Villarreal player for quite some time now and the deal has finally been closed with a four and a half year contract. He is now estimated to earn a basic salary of around £60,000-a-week at the Emirates.
Gabriel was offered a golden chance to play in the Premier League and he took full advantage of it by joining Arsenal, now the striker Joel Campbell is going to join Villarreal on loan for the rest of the season.
Paulista seemed very enthusiast about the transfer and in an interview he said; “I came from a club that is not that big in Brazilian football. I went to Spanish football and that was another dream come true, to play in Europe. A while ago I had a really huge desire to play in the Premier League, so since that point I put it in my head that I really wanted to do it. I had a talk with my family and I told them that it was my dream to play in the Premier League. Getting here to such a big club is so gratifying.” Moreover, he is willing to be helpful, “I am arriving at a big club and the fans can expect to find a Gabriel with a great will to help everyone.” He said.
Primarily a center back, the Brazilian footballer can also play as a defender which provides Arsenal with the complete squad that it had been lacking ever since Thomas Vermaelen left for Barcelona. While Gabriel is only expected to be backup right now, Arsenal is pretty sure that they have landed on a very exceptional talent.
