Radamel Falcao has been confined to the bench and his role has been quite limited in the starting XI of manager Louis Van Gaal. He has not been able to earn the trust of the manager and his place in the Manchester United starting XI is still not guaranteed. The utter disregard for the star player by the Dutch manager has led to dissent and uneasiness among the player and his agent, with both Falcao and his agent Mendes disappointed at the treatment of the Colombian International.
Louis Van Gaal has been adamant that Falcao needs to prove himself for a starting place but without getting proper match time, the agent believes it is unfair for the striker who could easily earn a starting role and full match time in any other big club. The verbal attack on the Manchester United boss by the player’s agent has been a clear message.
Mendes stated, “He is a player to play 90 minutes and I don’t understand why he isn’t. Falcao will play for one of the seven best teams in the world next, but Real Madrid have Benzema. I would have liked it if Falcao was with former Man Utd manager Sir Alex Ferguson.”
Although the treatment of Falcao has not been optimal by the manager, and the service to the player has been poor whenever he has played, Falcao is still not completely clean in this mess. He has missed his fair share of chances and has not been able to score when provided the opportunity. His lack of finishing has not justified his current case and if he wants to cement a place in the United starting lineup, he would need to start scoring and prove worthy enough for a starting place.
