Barclays Premier League: Top 4 performers from last week.

Premier League News:

Last week in terms of the upsets, Premier League had its fair share as Arsenal stunned the reigning Champions at their home soil. However, on the other hand, it was business as usual for all other top teams as all Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham won their respective matches.

Here are top 4 performers from the last week of the Premier League: –

Diego Costa

Coming into this match having 15 goals under his belt, Diego Costa stunned the Welsh club Swansea with a brace in the first half. Even though it was the Brazilian Oscar that opened the scoring for the current League leaders, it was Diego Drogba who won the match for Chelsea in the first half. After scoring 2 goals in 14 minutes, Costa also managed an assist to his name to round off a perfect day for him and Chelsea.

Oscar

After the rise of Cesc Fabregas this season and the continuous form of Eden Hazard in a blue shirt, the position of the Brazilian was endangered however, not for long as the Brazilian is now in the form of his life. After scoring a goal last week, Oscar went one better this time around as he scored 2 against Swansea to cement Chelsea’s position at the top of Premier League table.

Stewart Downing

Since moving on from Liverpool last season and joining the London side West Ham, the England International has been in top form this season and is a major reason of West Ham’s resurgence in the Premier League. Sitting 1 point above Liverpool after 22 matches on the leaderboard, Stewart Downing and Co. have lead the Hammers from the front. He managed a goal in West Ham recent win against the strugglers Hull City which has left the visiting side stranded in the relegation zone.

Santi Cazorla

Although it is the Chilean Alexis Sanchez that has earned praise from all corners in the Premier League, Spaniard Santi Cazorla is a silent warrior and was in top form when Arsenal defeated the reigning Premier League Champions.

Playing against the likes of David Silva and Sergio Aguero, Cazorla earned a goal and an assist to round off a perfect day for the Gunners at Manchester City for the 1st time during his stay at the Emirates.
