Bundesliga: Bayern Munchen gets crushed by Wolfsburg by 4:1

Soccer News:

The German champion Bayern Munchen suffered a devastating loss by 4:1 from Wolfsburg earlier today. The Bavarians just weren’t themselves and were just dominated from the home team, as Wolfsburg was able to maintain slim chances for snatching the title from Bayern. The difference between the team from Munchen and Wolfsburg is eight points at the moment, which is still quite a margin, but the interesting thing is that Guardiola’s players conceded four goals in a period of 90 minutes – the same amount amount they have conceded in the previous 17 meetings.

Bas Dost and Kevin de Bruyne scored two goals apiece, as they were the main figures for the Wolves in the blowout victory. For the Bavarians this was their first loss for the season and they also had an eleven point advantage over Wolfsburg, which is their only real rival when it comes to the Bundesliga title. If Bayern was able to win this match on “Volkswagen Arena” this would have meant that the title would be almost theirs. This defeat means that Guardiola’s players won’t be able to focus solely on the Champions League, as they will have to find a way to maintain their lead on top of the Bundesliga standings.

For Wolfsburg this was a sweet revenge, because the last time both team met on “Volkswagen Arena” the score was 1:6 in favor of Bayern. It should also be noted that Andre Schurrle, the news signing of the Wolves, wasn’t able to participat in the game – maybe the win would have been with an even larger margin if he had taken part in the contest.

Even though Bayern Munchen would probably go on to win the Bundesliga title, Wolfsburg deserve respect. They played with heart and pure motivation, with a type of football that just couldn’t be matched by Bayern.

Final Time:
Wolfsburg – Bayern Munchen: 4 – 1
