Today is on schedule last round from Group A and Group B, but except from fights for top places we will see one more interesting fight. In a game between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina we will see two brothers playing on different sides, never before thing like this was happened.
It’s not a strange thing to see brothers playing (carrying) national team, on this World Handball Championship from 24 nation 11 got brothers in their team.
Argentine brothers Pablo, Diego and Sebastian Simonet, Pablo and Adrian Portela and Juan Pablo and Federico Fernandez become hit after surprise draw between Argentina and Denmark in first round of Group D. Nikola and Luka Karabatic from France with Rene and Hernik Toft Hansen from Denmark are probably most famous brothers on this World Handball Championship. Brothers are also playing in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Austria, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Poland and Belarus.
But without doubt most interesting brothers are Igor and Ivan Karacic. Igor is playing under Bosnia and Herzegovina flag, while Ivan is playing under Croatia flag. Tonight in the last game of Group B and game that could decide Bosnia and Herzegovina fate in this Championship they will go head to head.
Igor and Ivan are born in Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and both start their career in Zrinjski Mostar. But in 2005 Igor was called to play for Croatian young national team and since then he is playing for Croatia.
This will not be their first time that they go head to head. They already clash in SEHA League when Vardar (Igor) played against Meshkov Brest (Ivan). Their father said that Igor once said no matter what he considers his brother enemy on the field. When asked about tonight game Ivan said that there are a lot of mixed feelings, but there is no calculation they (Bosnia and Herzegovina) are going for the win.
Croatia already secured second round and first place in Group B, while Bosnia and Herzegovina need miracle to go in second round.
