WHC Eight-Finals: Another Balkan Derby for place in Quarterfinals

World Handball Championship:

With the group phase behind us we know all participants in eight-finals, first four games of eight finals are on schedule today and next four will be played tomorrow. On today’s schedule probably the most interesting game is Balkan derby between Slovenia and Macedonia.

25/01/2015 16:30 GMT – Austria vs. Qatar

Third team from Group B will face second team from Group A. Qatar surprised many with their play in Group B. They represent them as a strong team and only lack of concentration in last round manage to give Spain win and first place. Austria win third place in Group B in front of Tunisia. Austria shows some impressive plays in this Championship, but in overall this should not be a problem for Qatar team.

25/01/2015 16:30 GMT – Slovenia vs. Macedonia

After group match against Bosnia and Herzegovina this will be another Balkan derby in this Championship. Slovenia won third place in Group A behind Qatar and Spain on surprise of many since most sport analyst saw her on second place. Macedonia took the second place in Group B and it was expected, they lost only to Croatia in a though game but game with a lot of mistakes. This will also be clash two of best scorers in this Championship Dragan Gajic (Slovenia) and Kiril Lazarov (Macedonia).

25/01/2015 18:00 GMT – Spain vs. Tunisia

Spain took the first place in Group A and it was expected, but nobody expected them to have hard time against Qatar. They manage to beat Slovenia without any problems in last round but match against Qatar show some weakness in Spain play. Tunisia took the fourth place in Group B and a lot of talk has been lately about their decisive game against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Tunisia didn’t impress us so Spain should not have any problems in this game, maybe only hope for Tunisia are their fans. Maybe they can carry them to big surprise.

25/01/2015 18:00 GMT – Croatia vs. Brazil

Winner of Group B will face the fourth nation from Group A. Except the game against Iran, Croatia didn’t impress us. But they are playing better and better in each game. Brazil is not without chances in this game, but they will have to use their chances. Croatia is a better team and if they start as against Bosnia or Iran then there is a little hope that Brazil can manage to get good score in this game.
