NBA Rumors: Five NBA Slam Dunk Contest participants revealed!

Basketball, NBA News:

The names of five participants for the 2015 Slam Dunk Contest during the All-Star Weekend in New York and Brooklyn may potentially have been revealed. According to numerous sources those players that will show off their jumping are going to be Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, Victor Oladipo, Mason Plumlee and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The contest will take place on 14th February at the Barclays Center and should be one very thrilling event to watch. The participation of Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine will surely be something that many NBA fans around the world are looking for, as they have shown a lot of times during the season and before, that they are quite the high-flyers. The fact that Antetokounmpo will be in the contest is surely going to be a very interesting thing, as he has really shown big growth during this regular season. Furthermore, he is not called the Greek Freak for nothing, so I’m quite keen to see him perform. The lone big man for now is Mason Plumlee, who has some really good athletic abilities, however hasn’t really shown any flashy dunks during the season. However, he should not be overlooked. The last of the announced participants is Victor Oladipo who is one of the most promising young players right now. He has a lot of high-flying abilities and he hasn’t really been too ashamed to show them (see the video below).

It should also be mentioned that the Philadelphia 76ers wing, K.J. McDaniels hasn’t yet decided whether he would like participate or not – “haven’t turned them down completely. But I’m not sure yet”. It would definitely be a positive thing if he decides to accept the offer. Since all of these participants are quite young, the next players to be announced will most probably be big names. Even until now, it looks like this edition of the Slam Dunk Competition is definitely going to be worth watching.
