After impressing in his maiden season at the English soil coming from Spanish giants Barcelona, the forward has been ruled out of the rest of this season as he suffered a knee ligament injury.
Even though Stoke City’ fans would be feeling worse at the moment as their main weapon is set to miss the rest of season, the timing of Bojan’s injury couldn’t be worst as the Spaniard has just scored one of the goals of the season for Stoke in their recent FA Cup match against non-league side Rochdale.
Stoke finished last season with 56 points in the league table however, their form so far this season has raised the concerns of fans to go one better this season and challenge for a place in Europa League this season.
At this stage last season, Stoke were sitting at 16th in the league table just 3 points of the relegation zone. However, fast forward one year and the Potters have improved significantly as they’re sitting 10th looking for a place in Europe.
Being one of the major weapon and a sole reason for their resurgence in the 2014/15 season, Bojan has scored 4 goals which makes him the 2nd top scorer for the side. Although this has been his first season at the helm on the English soil, the Spaniard has completed the 2nd most take-ons in the Premier League amongst any forward.
Manager Mark Hughes, who was very happy by the progress of his team was left disappointed by the recent setback.
‘’ It’s bitterly disappointing for the Club but even more so for Bojan himself as he was making such a big impact on the Premier League and clearly enjoying his football. We wish him a speedy recovery’’ Mark Hughes told the club’s official website
