Chelsea were tied with Bradford City in their fourth round of the FA Cup and it was a tie they would have been really happy to have, considering the difference between the ranking of the two teams. Chelsea manager considered the match to be an easy won and expected his side to win it with complete ease, ousting their opposition at home.
Mourinho stated before the match that a defeat to Bradford City would be a disgraceful result and one that was not acceptable. Little did he know that his words could come back to bite him and give the opposition enough vigor and spark to oust a great upset.
Chelsea started the match at home just like they do every week; dominating the possession and attacking with great menace. Mourinho rested Costa, Fabregas, Hazard and Courtois but the starting XI was still very strong, at least compared to Bradford City. The Chelsea team was extremely strong on paper and it was no surprise when they took a 2-0 lead within the first half through goals from Cahill and Ramires.
Bradford City though were not to give up so easily and got a goal back in the 41st minute through Stead. The resurgence continued in the second half when Bradford City kept hitting Chelsea on the counter and it paid dividend when they drew level at the 75th minute mark through Morais.
That was not to be all and Bradford City were not to stop their comeback and struck back with two sensational goals to kick Premier League leaders Chelsea out of the FA Cup. It was a result that will send ripples of shock in London and the home fans were left in utter disbelief at the disgraceful defeat of their side at the hands of such lowly opposition. It is a result that will test the character of Chelsea team and their manager Jose Mourinho.
Final Score: Chelsea 2-4 Bradford City
FA Cup: Bradford 'disgrace' Mourinho with an astonishing win!
