Barclays Premier League: Arsenal handed a huge boost in pursuit of PSG Striker

Arsenal Transfer News:

Coming into the game against Arsenal away from home where Arsene Wenger’s men would be facing the likes of Wilfried Bony and Sergio Aguero, the strike force of Arsenal will look lack-luster even though they have a double-figure scorer in Alexis Sanchez amongst their ranks.

However, if reports coming out from various media outlets are believed to be true, Arsenal are ready to break their previous transfer record in order to land PSG striker Edinson Cavani at the Emirates.

Having already scored 13 goals this season and being a top scorer for the reigning French Ligue 1 Champions, the International strike partner is in fine form this season for the French giants.

Even though Zlatan Ibrahimovic remained out of action for the most part of this season, Edinson Cavani has lifted the blame of goal-scoring for Laurent Blanc’s men.

While Blanc has been known for heavy spending in the summer with PSG as the 50million transfer of David Luiz suggests, the former French International has leaded PSG to 4 Ligue 1 Championships during his tenure at the Parc des Princes.

However, reaching midway through this season and sitting 4 points away from the current League leaders Marseille, Blanc is looking for new re-enforcement’s in winter.

But in order to comply with the regulations of FFP, there has to be some exits and Blanc has indicated the same. In an interview which was given to Mundo Deportivo by the PSG manager, he said that ‘’there certainly will be exits from PSG in winter transfer window’’ which may indicate the end of road for Edinson Cavani.

Owned by the Qatar-based billionaire Nasser Al-Khelaifi, PSG, after scoring a century of goals last season, has managed only 38 goals in 20 matches so far this season. Thus, in order to boost their striking options, Edinson Cavani might be sacrificed.

However, Arsenal still has to break the bank if they want to land the Uruguayan at the Emirates. At 27 years of age and having scored 13 goals already, Cavani might make the Arsenal bank account a 45million debt to land at the London Heathrow airport in this month.
