Barclays Premier League: De Gea wants a buy-out clause in his new contract

Soccer News:

The office of Manchester United will now have to include a buy-out clause in any contract they have been thinking of for David De Gea, as the goalkeeper has announced that he would like this detailto be added to his new deal. With Real Madrid trying hard to persuade De Gea to join them, United will now have to allow De Gea to join the club from Spain if decides to sign a new contract to stay at Old Trafford.

De Gea has been in terrific form lately and that is why all kinds of rumors have been surrounding him. It is widely known that the goalkeeper could leave the Red Devils for absolutely nothing at the end of his deal, so it will be very crucial for the owners of United, the Glazer family to find a way and sign him a new deal before the next transfer window. It has been reported that De Gea will be offered a collosal amount of money that will make him the highest paid goalkeeper in world football – no less than £200 000 per week. The value of the Spanish goalkeeper is hovering around £50 million according to the bosses at Old Trafford. Nevertheless, when it is taken into account that the player’s deal is running out, it is highly unlikely that the Red Devils will get anything close to that amount if they are forced to sell thissummer.

Louis Van Gaal has made public comments that he clearly wishes De Gea to stay at the club, however the head-coach has not ruled out the possibility of the goalkeeper to leave United – “In football, everything is possible. We want to keep him.” Nevertheless, it won’t be easy for Manchester to keep him, as De Gea has emerged as one of the best keepers in the world, largely in thanks to his performances this season. He has arguably been the best player in the squad led by Van Gaal this season and everybody around the world has started comparing him with Manuel Neuer. Even though it’s a bit early to compare him with the German keeper, his growth in Manchester is something that should be admired.
