One of most anticipating games in this knockout stage of UEFA Champions League is the game between Manchester City and Barcelona. Manchester City captain and one of most influence players in squad Vicent Kompany give his observation about the upcoming games.
After they demolish Newcastle (5-0) in last round of England Premier league Kompany said: “The next game is massive one now and it’s one of those – if you have a good day it can be a special night. So we have to prepare and I think everyone is ready for it.”
Kompany then continue saying that City is not feared by Barcelona, he said that at this level you don’t fear strikers (Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar) anymore. Kompany said that they wanted to face Barcelona again, since this would be their fourth game in a year now and there is nothing new to worry them.
Kompany knows that Barcelona and their way of play are totally different then the way of play from England clubs and he knows that they need to respect that. Kompany said that Barcelona is a special team full of stars and world-class players, but they don’t play a “hard game”, he gave example that game against Stoke is much harder than a game against Barcelona. For the end Kompany thinks that Barcelona main advantage is the ability to decide a game within a second, since they have a lot of players that can finish the game with only one magic touch.
After two good wins against Stoke (4-1) and Newcastle (5-0) City players are hoping to continue good games against Barcelona also, especial since Barcelona lost their last game against Malaga (0-1). Last year Barcelona beat Manchester City 4-1 on total and in both games City end with 10 mans on the field.
At the end City could surprise Barcelona in one game or one half, but it will be hard for them to kick out Barcelona. Especial since Barcelona, like Kompany said, are full or world stars players who can finish the game with only one magic trick.
