Another strange game Chelsea played yesterday against Burnley. Match against Burnley supposed to be easy win for Chelsea and it ends as one big problems for Chelsea.
Game end in draw 1-1 Chelsea was better team with huge ball possession and more goal attempts but the main event about this game happened in 70’. After one bad foul from Burnley player Ashley Barnes on Chelsea Nemanja Matic, Matic totally lost control. Matic quickly get up and push down Barnes and if Chelsea defenders Zouma and Terry wasn’t close who know how that would end. After the situation cleared referee Martin Atkins showed the red card to Chelsea player Nemanja Matic and Burnley Ashely Barnes didn’t even get a yellow card, pretty strange decision especial if you look and know how bad that foul was. With one player more on the field Burnley start playing better and in 81’ Ben Mee scored the equalizer and final score.
Off course after the game Chelsea Coach Jose Mourinho was furious on the referee Martin Atkins, since Mourinho don’t know how could he give red card to Matic and then not even a yellow card to Barnes? But Mourinho quickly calmed down and said the he will not comment referee decision (after he already did?) because every time he comment on some referee decision he gets punished. When asked by reporter will Chelsea appeal on Nemanja Matic suspension, Mourinho simply said did you see that Chelsea appeal was ever accepted.
It stay to see how will Football Association react on this incident, Nemanja Matic deserved a red card but also did Ashley Barnes. Also it stay to see how will Chelsea play without Matic, last time when Matic was on suspension they lost against Newcastle.
