Friday transfer Rumors: Manchester United looks set to splash 150million pounds on 5 players

Manchester United transfer news:

Although this has been an off the news week for Manchester United while other big Premier League sides are competing in Europe, the Red devils seem content to do their talking of the pitch. Having been handed an FA Cup Quarter final against rivals Arsenal, Manchester United were handed a 5 day rest before they travel to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

And if reports coming out from various media outlets are believed to be true, the Red devils are planning a whooping 150million transfer chest in order to enhance their bid for the title next season.

When Manchester United splashed the cash in the summer of 2014/15, it was thought that this would be enough for Manchester United for the next 2-3 seasons. Targeting players like Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao before luring them eventually to the Old Trafford, Louis Van Gaal made some heroic signings in the summer of 2014/15.

However, even though they splashed the cash, some positions in the final starting 11 every week are up for grabs. Amongst those positions, a defensive midfielder looks as the need of the day for the Red devils.

And since the departure of both Vidic and Ferdinand left a gaping hole in Manchester United defense, they would look to fortify their team in the next transfer window.

And if reports are believed to be true, Louis Van Gaal has prepared a list of 5 players whom he want to see at the Old Trafford next season. While some of those players have been heavily linked with the Red devils of late, a few of them might feel like a bolt from the blue for the Red devils’ fans.

Mats Hummels is still on the list

Although the names of all those 5 players have not been reported yet, it is likely that the Red devils would turn to Borussia Dortmund to resolve their defensive problems. Since the German side has lacked consistency this season, Manchester United would want to lure Mats Hummels to Old Trafford with a promise of Champions League football.

Talking about the full back position and although they already have Rafael on that position, the Brazilian has failed to impress the Dutchman so far this season. Both Dani Alves and Nathaniel Clyne have been reported as the likely targets.

Clyne looks more likely

But with the future of Alves un-sure after the implementation of transfer ban on Barcelona, the move of Clyne to Manchester United looks more on the cards.
