Bundesliga R21: 9 goals and 1 red card in derby game, Bayer Leverkusen - Wolfsburg 4 - 5

Bundesliga – Match Report:

Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg played a derby game of R21 Bundesliga and what a game it was. We saw 9 goals and 1 red card and almost 30 shots per goal from both teams.

If you want you can say that Wolfsburg got it all, then lost it all and in last moments of the game manage to get it all back. With this win and with some good scores from other teams they are now 8 in front of the rest. Bayer on other hand is in little problems with this lost they drop on 6^th place, last place that leads into Europa competition in next year.

Both teams start with pretty offensive tactics 4-2-3-1. Bayer had the first chance of the game but Bellarabi shot was saved. And then first shock for home side, one good cross from Vieirinha and excellent header from Bas Dost give Wolfsburg a lead. In 17’ another shock for home side supporters, one pretty distant free kick from Naldo and poor reaction by Bayer goalkeeper Leno results in 2-0 for Wolfsburg. In 27’ Bayer could lower the score but Calhanoglu shot from outside the box went close, but not close enough. In 29’ it was already 3-0 for guest, Kevin de Bruyne sends a good cross from right side and Bas Dost scored his second goal in this game. First half end with huge lead for Wolfsburg 3-0 and nobody except from Bayer to come back into the game. At the start of second half Roger Schmidt Bayer coach make a triple substitute and change formation to 4-4-2. And only 10 minutes later Bayer scored first goal. In 57’ after a corner Wolfsburg defense failed to clear the ball Bellarabi shot from the edge of the box but Wolfsburg goalkeeper Benaglio made a disastrous reaction and Heung-Min Son scored from a close range. Only 5 minutes later it was 2-3, one good long ball from Kyriakos Papadoulos toward Heung-Min So and another poor reaction by Benaglio and it was second goal for Bayern. But in next minutes Bas Dost bring Wolfsburg back on two goals lead. Similar to first goal one good cross from Ricardo Rodriguez on second post and Bas Dost scored his third goal in this game. But in 67’ Heung-Min So scored also his third goal in this game and again Bayer was on only one goal difference. Similar to first goal Wolfsburg defense failed to clear the ball after a corner kick and Heung-Min So scored from right side.  In 72’ Bayer finally manage to get the equalizer, one good fast break and Bellarabi go head on head with Wolfsburg goalkeeper and score for 4-4. In 82’ Emir Spahic manage to get second yellow card after a bad foul on Bad Dost and in last 10 minutes leave Bayer with one man down on the field. In 93’ Bas Dost scored his 4^th goal in this game with a good shot from the right side of the box and bring Wolfsburg a 5-4 win.
