NBA Rumors: Ray Allen definitely won't sign with Cavaliers, uncertain whether he will play at all

Basketball, NBA News¨

One of the best, if not the best, three-point shooters in the history of the NBA, Ray Allen has hinted that his days in the league may finally be over. This would be a sad day for every fan around the world, as we all know what Allen brings every night and what joy it is to watch him play. These news are coming after a long line of rumors in which it was said that the three-point specialist has made his mind and is going to Cleveland. However, a new set of reports is stating that if Allen decides to play a little bit more, it surely won’t be with the Cavaliers.

“Among numerous NBA executives with an interest in signing free-agent guard Ray Allen, there’s a growing belief that Allen will not play in the league this season. Allen still hasn’t delivered word through his agent Jim Tanner that he wants to play – never mind begin the process of choosing a team. Allen has been working out, but nothing to the level that would indicate an imminent return to get into NBA playing shape. Still, there’s time for Allen to make a decision, but as one general manager said Friday, “It’s getting late in the game for this to happen.”

Truly, it was thought that Allen would sign with a team before, or at the All-Star break, but no such thing has happened. The fact that there haven’t been any clear signs from the former Heat player that he will make some kind of a move makes us think that the NBA career of Ray Allen may actually be over. Nevertheless, the regular season is still not over and if a team wishes to have Ray on their roster, it would be mainly for the playoffs. In my opinion it would be a mistake to say with certainty that the guard has already retired – it won’t be that big of a surprise if he decides that he wishes to play only in the postseason.
