Soccer News: Kevin De Bruyne, an arrogant world-class player in the making?

Soccer News:

Just after one year and a half after Kevin De Bruyne joined Wolfsburg, he has become one of the biggest stars around the Bundesliga. He has become one of the most respected attackers around Europe, even though there was a time he was moved from Chelsea because he was thought to be too invaluable. The 23-year old attacking midfielder has been in the center of the good season that Wolfsburg has been making, scoring 11 goals and giving 14 assists in 28 games in all competitions this campaign. These stats are quite impressive, but however it has been reported that the player has become quite arrogant because of them.

It looks like arrogance is something that just goes hand to hand with stardom. The examples are quite a lot in football – we can mention Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and that will be enough. De Bruyne has started making some bad decisions that could help him follow their example. Even though, that he has been the motor of Wolfsburg, it is not normal for a player to say to a ball boy “Give me the ball, you mothef—-r!” De Bruyne did exactly that, when his team met Eintracht Frankfurt and therefore was fined 20 000 Euros. We, as fans can only hope that the Belgium player will rethink his actions in order to build a more successful career. Arrogance has proved to be a very dangerous thing, as it can almost ruin a career. Just look at the cases of the players that are so difficult to coach, like Ricardo Quaresma and Mario Balotelli.

Nevertheless, De Bruyne has showed some skills on the football pitch that haven’t been seen lately in the Bundesliga. According to some German sources, he has been ranked as one of the two best attacking midfielders of the league, as the other one is Arjen Robben. When a player is compared to Robben that definitely means that he is top-class. De Bruyne is growing to be that and in the future he could even surpass the Dutch footballer.

De Bruyne definitely wouldn’t have been able to reach this level of fame if he was still at Chelsea, because of the fact that there are so many other talented players there and he just won’t be given the opportunity to shine. However, in Wolfsburg, he is the key man, who has been given the chance to prove himself and he has done just that. De Bruyne has already realized his potential, rose as a world-star and is more than ready to carry a team on his shoulders.
