NBA Rumors: Isaiah Thomas and Danny Granger on the move

Basketball, NBA News:

The NBA trade deadline is coming real fast, but the rumors of players that could be moved before it aren’t stopping. The latest buzz around the league is that Phoenix Suns, aside from thinking about moving Goran Dragic, are very likely to trade Isaiah Thomas. Furthermore, it has been reported that the Miami Heat are trying to either dump Danny Granger or move him in an exchange of a draft-pick.

To start with Isaiah Thomas, it’s very likely that he will be traded in order to give Goran Dragic more playing time in the backcourt and restore last season’s minute balance. Thomas has not been the greatest fit in the Suns rotation this season, even though he is averaging 15.2 points and 3.7 assists as a reserve. Furthermore, throughout the current campaign the guard has made some comments that he’s not very happy with his reserve role and the amount of time he spends on the court. The problem for him is that almost every squad that is willing to trade for him already has a starting PG and will want him to play a sixth man role. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Houston Rockets could use him, in order to boost their offense. If Thomas is about to move, it’s very likely that he will land with one of those contenders.

To continue, it looks like the Miami Heat aren’t very satisfied from what Danny Granger has done this season. They are ready to part ways with the man that was once the leader of the Indiana Pacers. “And it sure seemed, based on word out of Detroit, that Riley was looking to make Granger a plus-one in any [Norris] Cole deal. Granger otherwise is on the Heat’s books at $2.2 million next season at his option.” It’s very strange to see a player that was once a superstar to be the smaller asset in a deal that includes Norris Cole. However, the injuries have drastically reduced Granger’s performance on the court, as he is averaging just 6.3 points per game this season. It’s hard to predict which team could use Granger, but maybe he could help the Clippers, as they would surely be happy to extend their bench with Griffin out.

Both deals are very hard to predict, as there hasn’t been any certain information for them. However, the Isaiah Thomas trade is very likely to happen, as the Suns will try almost everything in order to keep Dragic on their roster.
