Barclays Premier League: How will Manchester United lineup against Swansea City

English Premier League News:

Although they are currently sitting on 3rd spot in the Premier League table, the 20 time Premier League Champions have been off their form of late. Even though Burnley succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at the Old Trafford last week, the performance level by the hosts was below par. Thus, with a difficult away trip at the Liberty Stadium awaiting, Manchester United have to ascend their game in order to get a positive result.

Here is how the Red devils are expected to lineup on Saturday: –

David de Gea

Well, who else. For a man who has been the uncrowned King for the Old Trafford for the whole season, it is highly likely that the Spaniard will start every match for the Red devils this season. Although Manchester United signed Victor Valdes in January, there is little chance that the veteran goal-keeper will replace De Gea.

However, with no clean-sheets in last 4 matches in the Premier League, De Gea would be under-pressure to shut the goal.

Phil Jones

Although the Englishman went out injured for long terms of period this season, he got back his position at the heart of Manchester United defense every-time he evaded his injury woes. Thus, although he has been a little out of form of late with clean sheets drying up a bit, the 23 year old Englishman will guard the goal

Marcos Rojo

When the evolution of Louis Van Gaal era took place at the Old Trafford, the Argentine was one of the first signings made by the Dutchman. However, due to the injury factor that has haunted the Red devils this season, Rojo has been a victim of injuries as well. He will start on the left center-back role for Manchester United

Luke Shaw

Labelled as ‘’not fit enough’’ by Louis Van Gaal weeks after his arrival at the Old Trafford for a fee in the region of 27million pounds, the product of Saints academy has done well to win back the confidence of Dutchman.

Rafael

Amid the recent chain of events that have linked Manchester United with a right back, Rafael will have a lot to prove if Louis Van Gaal gives him the opportunity. He will start on the right back role.

Daley Blind

One of the most promising signings that were made in the summer of 2014, the 24 year old Dutchman has been a consistent member of the Old Trafford folklore since coming back from injury. He has started 5 games on a row and should start in the defensive midfield role for the Red devils.

Angel Di Maria

At a time when Louis Van Gaal was struggling to find a perfect mix of players in his starting 11, it was the Argentine World Cup finalist that was a constant member of his team. Having scored 3 goals and registered 7 assists for his team-mates, Di Maria is expected to start on the left wing role.

Wayne Rooney

Even though he was instrumental in his role up-front for Manchester United against Preston on Monday, Wayne Rooney is expected to be dropped deep by Louis Van Gaal again. He will start on his newly accustomed role at the right-wing position.

Juan Mata

One of the last recruits of the David Moyes era at the Old Trafford, the Spaniard has grown leaps and bounds this season. And with Swansea playing the fluid-football, Juan Mata might become the main man for Manchester United to salvage a win.

Van Persie

Although the Dutchman undergone a knock in Manchester United’s win over Burnley last week – which kept him out of action against Preston North end, he is expected to return at the favored attacking position against Swansea.

Falcao

Being labelled as one of the flops of this season, the Colombian – even after 8 months of his arrival, still has a lot to prove in the Premier League this season. However, with Louis Van Gaal dropping Wayne Rooney deep, Falcao is expected to take his role at the right-striker role.

Swansea City Vs Manchester United will take place at the Liberty Stadium on 21st February, at 16:00 GMT [Match Centre]
