5 players linked with Arsenal for the summer transfer window

Arsenal transfer news:

While the Gunners have seemed to find their form back after that away defeat at White Hart Lane, their fans seems adamant to pressurize Arsene Wenger to lure some talent to the Emirates this summer. While on one hand Arsenal are facing one of the toughest fight for top 4 spot in years, the fact that both Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini will leave the club in summer has forced Arsene Wenger to already plan for life after the duo.

Here are 5 players that are linked with Arsenal for the summer transfer window

Marco Verratti

Currently playing for the French Champions Paris Saint Germain, the Italian has been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes in summer. While he is currently enjoying first team action for the French giants, the overload of midfielders for the French side may force them to axe the Italian from their plans of next season. He has been linked with both Arsenal and Manchester United.

Maxime Gonalons

While the Frenchman isn’t a household name across the Premier League fans, he has been an instrumental part for Lyon this season. Since graduating from the academy of Lyon as a teenager in 2009, the 26 year old has been a prominent figure for the French giants of late. He has been scouted by Arsenal for a couple of times and should Arsenal be able to lure him, they have to pay his buyout clause which is in the region of 16 million pounds.

Luiz Adriano

Although the Brazilian was lacklustre when European giants Bayern Munich visited Shakhter on Wednesday, he has been an important figure for Shakhtar in the competition. Having scored 9 goals in the competition so far, Adriano is the top scorer in the Champions League this season.

Lars Bender

While the departure of both Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta would leave a gaping hole in the Arsenal midfield, Bender would be an ideal candidate to fill the gap. At 25 years of age and currently playing for the Bundesliga side Bayern Leverkusen, he has been tracked by Liverpool and Manchester United in the past. But with Arsenal almost forced to re-strengthen their midfield, they might have to pay 22million pounds to lure the German. However, with the quality he would offer to Arsenal, Arsene Wenger should be tempted to match his price tag.

Morgan Schniederlin

While there could be hundreds of reasons for the resurgence of Southampton this season, the Frenchman has been a pivotal figure for the Saints in the last 8 months. At times of diversity when players were leaving Southampton for fun, the Frenchman dug deep and has produced some magnificent performances this season.

Although Southampton rubbished interest from Arsenal in January, a summer move for the Frenchman is on the cards for Arsene Wenger.
